Summary
Kaleigh Brendle is the Founder and President of Judy’s League. She works directly with the Board of Directors and volunteers to draft, edit, and disseminate content discussing both the current threats to our rights and the stories of disabled people who rely on them. She also speaks with reporters and state legislative offices about what our community currently faces and how many people would be impacted if the attacks on our rights succeed.
As a Blind woman with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, fibromyalgia and dysautonomia, Kaleigh is grateful for the work of disability rights activists including Judy Heumann, the namesake of this organization, who fought to secure the rights which allowed her to receive accommodations in school. Kaleigh’s older brother, Cody, is Blind and autistic, and the community-based program he loves to attend is currently at the mercy of the Trump administration. She founded Judy’s League to bring disabled people and our allies together in our mission of protecting the laws, regulations and precedent Judy Heumann fought for.
