Judy’s League is able to carry out its mission because of the work of our wonderful volunteers, who join us from across the world to help protect disability rights and spread the word about what we are facing. If you would like to get involved, please fill out our volunteer application form, and our Director of Recruitment, Tripp Lyons, will contact you with more information. Details about the work of each of our committees are included below.
Social Media
Every video and post we release that educates the public about an issue facing disabled people, or tells the story of a disabled person impacted by the current attacks on our rights, is made possible by the diligent work of the Social Media Committee. Volunteers assist with whichever of these areas align with their skills and interests: script writing and editing, graphic design, filming content, captioning, creating video titles optimized for each platform, and engaging with followers.
Research
This committee ensures that the Social Media team has access to all the relevant information about a disability rights issue so they can create a post or video that accurately and succinctly explains it, and conveys why it matters. Research volunteers track disability rights cases and keep current on disability news at the state and federal level. They make sure the Social Media Committee has the stats and facts they need as they create their content.
Recruitment
This committee reviews the applications of all prospective volunteers, working with them to determine which committee would be the best fit for everyone. They welcome in all new volunteers and ensure they have everything they need as they begin their work with us. They also plan virtual social events for the organization.
Advisory
This committee is comprised of experts in the fields of nonprofit management, disability rights law, finance, fundraising, marketing, social media, politics, and policy analytics. These experts provide our Board of Directors with valuable insights and feedback as our organization grows.
Operations
This committee manages the technological and logistical matters that allow Judy’s League to function. From working on our website to managing our Google Workspace infrastructure, these volunteers give their time and technical expertise to our organization and help it carry out its work.
