First Vice President: Judy’s League
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Summary
Mandy serves as First Vice President of Judy’s League, where she works closely with the Board of Directors and volunteers to research, draft, and disseminate information about threats to disability rights. As the Liaison to the Research Committee, she also assists with facilitating meetings and ensuring all advocacy efforts are timely and factual.
As a Blind woman, Mandy has personally experienced the denial of her rights, from educators refusing to teach her because she utilizes Braille, to inaccessible college and hospital websites. Such experiences have fostered in her the belief that no one deserves to have their rights denied or revoked. This led her to join Judy’s League, where she can help protect not only her own rights but those of other disabled individuals.
