Director of Outreach Analytics: Judy’s League
Wilmington, Delaware

Summary

Rose Baker serves as Director of Outreach Data Analytics of Judy’s League where she researches journalists and news articles related to disability rights, politics, education, civil rights and health care. She then compiles a spreadsheet to organize this information into usable material for the President to contact news outlets and inform them about the current challenges to the laws, regulations and precedent the disabled community relies on.

A recent graduate of Villanova University, Rose was involved in several student organizations in which she developed close relationships with people with disabilities such as VUnited, STRIVE, and LEVEL. After a hip injury halted her athletic career, Rose began to develop a different perspective, as she navigated a world every day that was not designed to accommodate her new temporary disability. She discussed this topic with fellow injured student-athletes and they began an organization within Villanova Athletics that provided a safe space for individuals with disabilities to discuss their experiences. She became a mentor for students on campus with intellectual disabilities and quickly became close friends with their entire cohort. She recognized a need to further her support and spread awareness of political and societal barriers facing people with disabilities in our world today. Rose joined Judy’s League to continue the work of and honor the legacy of Judy Heumann.
